Bilal Asmal will be dearly missed
A 3 day long search for missing Lenasian teenager Bilal Asmal has finally ended in tragedy.Bilal who was cashing a cheque for his uncle in order to pay staff at a nearby shop in fordsburg was kidnapped thursday afternoon at around 1:30pm when 4 robbers kidnapped him for R20000 that he had on him.Through several reports we are told he was driven around through grasmere on friday night through the tracking on his phone. He was later found near tiger wheel and tyre in mayfair.3 of the suspects were caught who then led to police founding Bilal’s body.the Suspects said that the only reason they killed him was due to him not wanting to co-operate and kept fighting until they strangled him.
Family and friends couldnt help but shed tears for Bilal hours after his body was found on sunday morning, his mother who lost her husband in a drowning accident 11 years ago was completely distraught and couldnt believe it.
His death caused shockwaves through Lenasia,as he just matriculated from Lenasia Muslim School and dreamt of being a pilot.
Yusuf Jada a well known teenager and close friend to Bilal was devestated and all he could say was ‘Bilal stood up for what is right and today he has payed the price for it’.
Our sympathies go out to his family and we will remember him for all the good his given this world, for his character and his laugh, and most importantly his heart and for the good he stood for.
Bilal’s friends and family have setup up a prayer reading on behalf of Bilal starting 7th may at 20:00 and will end on 8th May at 12:00
